Pastry chef Huascar Aquino, the first-ever New York winner of the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars, brings his farm-to-table baking style to New York City with his new bakery, H Bake Shop.

One of Huascar’s unusual creations is the Popeye Loves Olive Oyl Cupcake, which is a spinach and extra virgin olive oil cake, filled with homemade tomato marmalade and topped with cream cheese frosting, tomato coulis and spinach cake crumbs.

Huascar takes pride in creating delicious sweet treats that surprise his customers and finds his inspiration everywhere “even in the clouds,” he notes. His new bakery located inside midtown restaurant, the Hudson Eatery, is full of sweet surprises, untraditional cupcakes, cookies, brownies, macaroons, coffee, tea and more.

H Bake Shop is located at 601 West 57th Street, inside the Hudson Eatery in New York City.
