If fans can’t get to L.A. by Sept. 21 to see “STRONG TO THE FINICH! AN OFFICIAL POPEYE TRIBUTE ART SHOW” curated by Ecuadoran artist and Popeye uber-fan CHOGRIN in collaboration with King Features Syndicate, there is still time to order a piece of art showcased in the exhibition. From an original framed by the artist to limited-edition prints and giclées,the fascinating renditions of the world’s most famous Sailor Man are available for purchase in the Hero Complex Gallery store.
CHOGRIN has sent us some photos of his own tribute art from the show and a behind-the-scenes look at the inspiration for them. Check this out:
About this art: In this piece of art, artist CHOGRIN wanted to illustrate Popeye and all of the symbols and main cast he is associated with. For example, both the Whiffle Hen (Bernice) and the Spinach are portrayed as Popeye’s sources of strength and vitality in the middle. Also featured are Olive Oyl, Bluto, Wimpy, and Eugene the Jeep! The final piece of art was printed professionally on wood by Prints on Wood (www.printsonwood.com). To purchase the large 24″ x 24″ wood print, click here. For

Fans can now pre-order a resin cast of CHOGRIN and Tommy Keiser‘s sculpture collaboration, “Fist to Victory.” Click here.
About this art: In this piece of art, artist Chogrin wanted to bring his illustration work and style to 3D. Chogrin illustrated the front and back designs of the proposed sculpture, then his friend and art collaborator, Tommy Keiser, brought it to life by sculpting and doing the final touches with gold paint. This sculpture will be the main source that the resin casts will be made out of.
Fans can also get Popeye’s “Sailor Essentials” pack, designed and packaged by CHOGRIN. Pack includes 4 pins, 2 stickers, 3 temporary tattoos, and 1 corn-cob pipe (for decoration purposes only). Limited quantities available. To get yours, click here.
